AIA LA gives Honor Award to Mayumi during the 2018 Design Awards.

With its approach of micro-unit living within the urban context of Los Angeles, Mayumi’s orientation sets it apart from other Adaptive-reuse renovations in the area. During the 2018 AIA Los Angeles Design Awards on October 30th at the Egyptian Theater, ShubinDonaldson’s Mayumi project was awarded Honors by the AIA Los Angeles.

Mayumi was designed as a courtyard building that clearly defines an outside public face experienced from the street and the automobile, contrasted with a transformative and calm experience in a lush private courtyard on the inside.
