1 Market San Francisco is an office and amenities space occupying 8 floors, comprised of open office, flexible workspaces, micro kitchens, and lounges on each floor, 2 cafes with “commercial” kitchens, a tech talk, yoga studio, and new internal stairway.
The architecture and construction teams worked closely together to reframe and update this historic building, setting the stage for various programs to occur while also honoring the history, character, and identity of this iconic building. Through a series of “sets” and “props”, a graphic layered approach references the building’s history.
Each floor has an individual theme and color to give it a distinct and recognizable character while being part of the whole.
The graphics are then concentrated into specific areas within each floor to help with orientation and wayfinding and to give the graphic content a place to establish its identity.
